Malaysia Getaway D3: Sanrio Hello Kitty Town

By Day 3, I was nearly busted. Mummified slept in as she always does at such holidays whilst Daddified usually does the squirreling around. Daddified simply doesn't want to waste a minute of any holiday.

We packed up early and scooted before 9am so we can rush off for a nice local breakfast before heading back to Puteri Harbour area for another funland day. Not sure about where to eat, we depended on a fellow daddy blogger CheekieMonkies's post on Gelang Patah for recommendations.

Saying farewell to our abode for the 2 nights. Leaving it nicely packed as we first move in.
We just took about 10mins to get to  Wee Hoi Kopitiam (惠海) at Gelang Patah. Yummy breakfast only costed us RM24! We ordered 2 char siew baos, 2 Lor Mai Gai, 2 sets of eggs+coffee+toast bread. BEAT THAT TOAST BOX!

Imm terribly excited on stuffing his face

The yolks look very kampung, more orange than yellow
We looped back to Hello Kitty Town at Puteri Harbour 10mins before the place opened. Savvy Daddified took advantage of the summer promotion where a dual park entry cost RM88 instead of RM125 usually. I am puzzled that they priced adults same as children... You might want to check out joint promos with Legoland as they have been jointly promoting together.

Waiting to go in. Kids were super fidgety

One of the 3 indoor playgrounds they had! 3 levels of playgrounds!!!

Hello Kity Town on 2nd floor. We are the only ones at 10am.

Thomas the Train at Level 3. You may suspect that we booked out the whole place to ourselves

This cushion jigsaw puzzle is really not easy to do. Imm lying on it to give perspective on its hugeness!

They even had an indoor train track

Ferris wheel all to ourselves..

I can't stand this thing going round and round.

Those dropping rides thing. Kids absolutely love it and the operator let them go on a few times, since we were the only customers then

More more!

The 3rd story indoor playground is really huge. Wifey almost got lost inside. We challenge anyone to find their way into this train. Almost impossible!

There are cookie decorating sessions (no top up if you were wondering)

Small dance sessions

Arcade area without needing to put any tokens in!! Needless to say, Mummified and Daddified were here for a long time

A Hello Kitty show is a must of course

A photo session u will take ages to get if you were in Japan

Perler beads session even the boys of the family to do. This took sometime but was really fun

Daddified's gift to Mummified! Super fun!

We stayed all the way till the park closed and were the last few to leave. Our lunch spot was just across the building at a DC Comics themed restaurant. That was quite nice too but didn't really take much photos.

Because of our stuffed lunch, we opted to skip dinner. But we vowed to return soon for a seafood pig-out. Beat The Jam advised that the peak drops off at 630pm at the Tuas Causeway so we did a mandatory stop at Shell to do a petrol top up and grabbing coffee before driving back. We managed to clear and reached back to middle of Singapore by 830pm. The kids had their short nap and the world was happy again.

Malaysia Getaway D2 : Legoland

Day 2 started off with a bang with the 2 kids up earlier than the adults. One reason was because Imm wet his pants and went off to change on his own in the middle of the night! How independent!

Before the Legoland madness, we derived sustenance from bread by a Japanese bakery Komugi (a little pricey by local standards though nice!) and 2 tea leaf eggs ta-baoed from Tebrau City. The minors wolfed down the softy side of the buns leaving all the chocolate goodness for the adults!

Savouring their breakfast!
We took on Legoland's Halloween Break-or-Treat offer where kids go free if they dressed up in full Halloween costume. The savvy Daddified went one further by waving his SAFRA and Passion card with coupon printouts to enjoy another 25% off for the adults. This allowed the family to net our entry at RM292.50 for the 4 of us whilst ordinarily, the full fare would have costed (RM160/adult x2 + RM128 x2 =) RM576, nearly 50% off.

Separate note: Upgraders to the annual pass need to know that they will calculate the top-up difference between what you have paid for the entrance minus the existing annual pass rates. I decided not to upgrade unless there is an annual pass promo, which they had ran before.

Halloween madness with the family decked in skelly and witchy costumes

The first ride the kids took. Koko took the smaller circuit whilst Imm had the luxury of the bigger and more awesome one. Despite the simple circuit, Koko driving skills CMI!!!!!

Imm's fav childhood cartoon of all time

Don't be mistaken by Koko's happy smile here. She simply hated the Ninjago ride but the rest of us had a whale of our time. IT was the BEST Ride in Legoland.

The sinful and most expensive meal of our trip at RM80 a full family set (actually quite ok). The Lego fries were nice!

This prison is not very useful for me. My son still escaped.

I am risk adverse so we played a sure win game! One of the few indulgences by cheapo Daddified

Even the rabbits and the Rafflesia flower is Lego design!

At home build still not enough, must come all the way here to build

We loved touring around the mini lego build ups. Everything is so impressive!

Nice family photo with an Icon of Malaysia

This is a MUST WATCH. A puppet Ninjago show, only available in Malaysia.

Sigh... presents... No offer summore.

Spot the kids please!
Either the Lego figurines look real or the kids look like blocks.
Even the adults had a whale of a time. From the pictures, you would figure that we almost had the whole park to ourselves. Which is nearly true because we hardly had to queue for any of the rides. Some nice ones we went double times without getting off! And sorry hor, the fun ones I did not take photos, cos too fun and busy to take photos. Only the best ones I just had to mention.

Daddified is a strong advocate of off-peak travel now!

Malaysia Getaway D1 : FanPekka!

As a graduating trip for Imm, we decided to do a 3D2N Malaysia getaway. Like our Japan trip, it must be a bombardment of play-heaven of kids' activities. After the trip, it felt so good that we felt it was needed to put it down somewhere as future reference. Esp for friends who might want to do the same thing. So here goes Day 1:

After church and breakfast, we set off on our journey from middle of Singapore via Tuas to Tebrau City. Some experts would say I am silly because I should have taken the Woodlands causeway. True! But it's because I had mistaken Fanpekka to be in Bukit Indah instead of Tebrau... The Beat the Jam app is totally awesome to use for planning when and which causeway to go via by. It is one reason why we decided to go in on a Sunday morning and out on a Tuesday evening.

Happy faces outside Fanpekka. But this was part of Tebrau City Shopping centre thematic displays on various countries. The shopping centre is really quite big!

This interactive wall display measuring heights was quite captivating. Even before we paid to go in, we got stuck here for a while.
So cuttteeeee. The kids have a passport each which they have to stamp to get past the checkpoint.
The place is massive. The beauty of it all is that we almost had the entire place to ourselves. I kept thinking of the kids in Singapore squeezing in Cool De Sac on a Sunday morning.
There's an area which the kids can "build their own" houses in a modular fashion and furnish them accordingly. We had fun combining 2 houses to make a 2 room flat.

And of course a market place where the kids can "buy and sell things"

And also a dress up area!
We also had lunch at SDS cafe which was attached to Fanpekka. It is a chillout place for parents though we spent more time in the playarea monkeying around ourselves. Here's Imm having a healthy bite on an airplane theme plate.

The kids enjoying a mandatory ice-cream at Secret Recipe after 6 hours of fun!
Fanpekka was really fun! It also had some show times and very clean toilets. It opens from 10am - 10pm daily. It's a bit odd that finding the website is a little hard from Aeon website but Google helped.

Because we went on a Sunday and with nil promo, we paid full fare of 2 x (1 adult + 1 child) = 2 x (11 + 55) = RM132, around SGD44. It's definitely a winner without the crowd!

After the day, we drove to our AirBnB at Afiniti Residensi just beside Legoland where we toured the place, enjoyed a dinner then a swim before retiring after a tiring day!

Totally awesome view at the roof top overlooking Legoland

Koko enjoying the outdoor sofas with the sunset. I have no idea what Imm is doing.

At the Mall of Medini just 3 mins walk away, it was a little quiet but they were celebrating Deepavali still.

Stuffing ourselves at Old Town Coffee Shop with noodles!
