Letter to Immanuel #38 Thank You for Keeping Your Promises

Dear Imm,

It has been a week since you turned 4 years old. For the first few days, Daddy and Mummy made you and Ko sleep in your own beds from the start and you will crawl into our beds at around 4-5 am. Later on, you said that we can make you sleep on the big bed first, then carry you to your bed after you fall asleep. You would then not come to our bed in the middle of the night. You did it!!! I know that you are always trying your best to keep your promise and even though you might wake and say you are scared of monsters, you would still whimper and try to sleep back after some reassurance.

Not only that, you have started to finish your food all by yourself and will take HUGE bites of the portion instead of nitty-pick your food which really infuriates Mummy. Meals can take up to one hour and end up with feeding you because you don't want to eat this/that. But now, you empty your bowl by yourself. Is my boy really growing up?

Last week, we did a lot of counting together. Mummy managed to find something that makes you tick - counting monsters!! You counted 1-100 in two days straight and also wanted to count in tens for the cupcakes. You are more motivated in learning now and will always listen to us. Learn first before playing with Ko / listen to songs together. In a way, we wanted you to practise delayed gratification. :)

You were a bit sad yesterday because your friends Alex and Hayden did not go to school. You are such a sensitive little boy. You then threw a fuss when you got home and Mummy spoke to you. You told me you were sad and I was saying, it is ok, you will always have Mummy, Dadddy and Ko when you are back! Don't worry, we are always with you ok?

We went to Vrehendof Estate over the weekend and you really love to play on the pirate ship. Mummy loves to see you enjoying yourself.

You also loved the Two Oceans Aquarium which we went to. You kept asking me why this creature looked like this and that. Mummy loves to answer your questions but sometimes sorry dear, I can be a bit tired and irritated. Hehehe. I will always have to remind myself to be more patient ok? :)

You were so interested in looking for the toads. You love spiders/ toads.

You tried to touch the starfish after a bit of persuasion. Hehe.

Help!!!!
