Cafe Paradiso and Bloubergstrand

We went to Cafe Paradiso for lunch after church today. It was another one of the recommended places by mums and upon going there, I realized it is a really quaint place with nice food!

They have this kiddies project at R48 per project. Even though it was only Imm doing it as Ko was too young, she was provided with her own dough again. She sure benefits a lot while doing activities with Imm. :) I would say one of the best things for my kids is a rolling pin. Kids just love dough and it is not difficult to always bring this activity to the table. They could have a choice to make pizza, chocolate cookies or gingerbread man. Imm chose gingerbread man at first; but it was really using ginger dough to make different shapes.

He got to sprinkle with chocolate chips or colourful sprinkles after that. He also got to decorate his box. I then realised he could actually write his name but needed me to tell him the letters after "IMM".

For lunch, we had penne with grilled chicken, basil pesto, rocket, mushrooms and cream! It was awesome and Imm actually liked rocket...

Grilled sirloin with butter, root veg, grilled black mushrooms, Parmesan and rocket. The root veg, esp the beetroot actually taste so good with the steak. Thumbs up!

After our lunch, Imm did another project doing chocolate chips cookies and it was similar but using chocolate cookies dough.

We decided to make a trip to the beach next as it was a nice sunny day even though it is winter! Indeed, we had a great time at Bloubergstrand.  It is one of our favourite beaches here for its classic view of Table Mountain. Bloubergstrand literally means "blue mountain beach" in Africaans. We are so thankful for sunny weekends so far when it can so cold and dreary during the weekdays.

And when it is sunny, ice cream is a must!

Ko can be rather grumpy when she is woken up from the car in the beginning. We actually stayed in the car for sometime so she could sleep longer..

But she warmed up shortly and played with the sand, together with Imm. Reminds me of the song "Jack and Jill" when I see her carrying her pail.. so I watched them carefully.

The waves were crashing upon the rocks and the kids would squeal at times, being afraid that the waves would reach their feet. It almost did.

What can I say? Life can be so simple enjoying nature's wonders and watching your kids have a good time together.
